The Best (and Worst) New Interior Design Style Quizzes of 2025

How has it already been a year since I broke down which online interior style quizzes were worth a damn—and which ones were not-so-hot? Time seriously flies when you’re building a dream home, or thinking about building it! I’m back with an update so you can skip the noise, avoid the crap, and spend your time (and money) making a home you love.

A Quick Hello

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Nicole. Together, we’re building a one-of-a-kind home and decor community in my hometown of Sacramento—and beyond! My mission is to help you discover your style, build a space that brings you joy, and give you the resources you need to pull it off (without losing your mind or your wallet).

Before we dive into the new quizzes, here’s a quick shout-out to last year’s article . Back then, I tested a bunch of quizzes and the top dog started with an “H.” Any guesses? Havenly absolutely killed it, offering a wide range of images and a smart algorithm that nailed those nuanced style preferences. But we also saw flops (cough HGTV cough) that felt too outdated or superficial for the modern home lover.

Why More Quizzes?

You might be wondering, “Um, Nicole, what’s the point of exploring more style quizzes if you already found the best ones?” Great question. Honestly, I was shocked to find six new (to me, at least) quizzes. I thought maybe I’d stumble upon one or two. But hey, we love variety, and the fastest way to get a style snapshot is a quick quiz—even if it’s not 100% perfect.

Wait, Don’t We Have Enough Already?

The world really doesn’t need another style quiz, but clearly, there’s a demand. As much as I believe in a personalized approach (grab my free guide below), quizzes can be a great jump-start to discovering your overall look and feel. If you’re ready to really take your home seriously, though, you should check out our class for real feedback and support—and if you want a super-deep dive on design basics, we’re even giving away our E-Book for free now (yes, free!). Because let’s be real: everyone’s style is unique, and it’s nice to have an actual human help you figure it out sometimes.

The New Style Quizzes: Pros and Cons

Let’s cut to the chase. Here’s my breakdown of the new quizzes I found, complete with star ratings, pros, and cons. A few of these truly impressed me, while others… well, you’ll see.

Spoak  - Beautiful user interface- Great style examples- Trusted brand - Didn’t really find any major cons- They show really unique products ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Altered Abode  - You get a design board - Didn’t nail my style- Some questions seemed irrelevant- The products to shop are pricey ⭐️⭐️

Bobby Berk  - It’s Bobby Berk!- Simple interface- Lots of great resources on site - The website can feel like info overload- The quiz results are brief; no real plan to get started ⭐️⭐️

Julie Jones  - Good example photos - Only 4 questions?!- Didn’t come close to my style- Seems geared to the “HGTV + Target” crowd ⭐️

BuyerSelect  - Great variety of style options- You get a “style DNA” breakdown - The quiz lumps together multiple styles you like, making it super easy to see your style blend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Old Favorites, Same Old Love

In case you missed them or need a refresher, here are a few highlights from last year’s all-stars—and losers:

Havenly (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Amazing variety of images, a smart algorithm, and detailed style breakdowns.

HGTV (⭐️)

Great brand name, but the quiz felt painfully outdated.

Cristina Cleveland (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Perfect if you’re into modern, high-end styles. It’s thorough and visually appealing.

Designer Society of America (⭐️)

The quiz barely covers current trends—probably more relevant for the 65+ crowd (no offense, we love our silver foxes, but the interface is way behind the times).

The Ginger Home (⭐️⭐️⭐️)

A decent variety of images, but some questions felt random.

Decorilla (⭐️)

Quick and easy, but not super thorough, especially if your style is eclectic.

Overall, our Top 4 Are:

1. Havenly 2. Spoak and 3. Cristina Cleveland  4. Buyer Select

Hands down those are the only three I would recommend anyone in the US to try.

Next Steps: Where Do You Go from Here?

If these quizzes confirm your suspicions—like you’re a Mid-Century Boho Minimalist (not a thing, but hey, maybe it should be!)—great! You’re off to a solid start. If you’re still scratching your head or you found yourself liking everything simply because it’s all better than your current hand-me-downs, don’t worry.
